The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NUG Abdullah Abdullah said some countries, specially US made contacts with Taliban in Qatar, adding these talks were held to facilitate peace talks between the government of Afghanistan and the Taliban group.

Addressing at a conference of “the pulpit voice against the corruption” in Kabul late Sunday, Mr Abdullah said some countries held talks with Taliban to facilitate peace talks between the government and the Taliban group.
“these have been held many times and will continue in the future,” he added.

Although the CEO does not consider these contacts as peace negotiations, he said, it will help the peace process.

Mr Abdullah said the decision on the fate of the people of Afghanistan is the exclusive right of the people, adding that no group or country has the right to make a decision on this matter, and has not claimed such measure so far as well.

America and Taliban confirmed the representatives of the two sides held direct talks in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
