Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS) in a statement confirmed that commander Alipur was detained by the intelligence agency personnel, saying that Alipur was an irresponsible commander, therefore, he was arrested.

“the responsibility of the security institutions is to enforce the law and any individual or group who impedes the fulfillment of the rule of law, is considered as the offender and will be encountered according to the law,” the statement of the NDS read.

Afghanistan’s NDS said that in 2016, Alipur formed an irresponsible armed group of 150 people who were equipped with light and heavy weapons and were conducting illegal activities like “extortion, arming and supporting individuals and criminal groups engaged in illegal activities”.
According to the statement, about a month ago, when the security forces stationed in Behsood wanted to stop Alipur’s illegal activities, came under armed attack and 5 police along with their weapons were captured.

On Sunday morning, Alipur arrested by the NDS forces in Qala Qazi area of Kabul city.
His arrest sparked protests in Kabul city which immediately turned violent when the police forces fired in the air to disperse the people.

On Monday, the protesters came out on the streets as well, demanding the release of Alipur.
Today’s mass protests have also turned violent. so far several police stations have been set on fire in PD-13,18,6.
