The Afghan government’s executive officer Abdullah Abdullah met with the Chinese ambassador in Kabul on Sunday.

During the meeting, Mr Abdullah and the Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan Liu Jinsong discussed bilateral and regional issues.
“Had fruitful discussions on bilateral relations, status of peace efforts, elections and regional relations,” Abdullah wrote on his twitter.
China has recently pushes for peace process in Afghanistan.

The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has taken steps in getting Kabul-Islamabad relations closer. Mr Wang Yi discussed Afghan-led and Afghan owned peace process with Shah Mehmood Qureshi during his visit from Beijing last week.
