Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov arrived in Pakistan on a two-day visit on Tuesday, according to reports.
The visit comes as US-Taliban talks in Doha, according to American officials, have had significant progress.

During his visit to Pakistan, the Russian envoy met Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua to discuss peace process in Afghanistan. Pakistani media outlets reported.

Mr Kabolov, who is said to be behind the growing contacts between Russia and the Afghan Taliban, will be briefed about the recently held peace talks between the Taliban and the US special representative Zalmay Khalilzad in Qatar.”
