US and Taliban delegation took two days for internal deliberations, with plans to regroup on Saturday.
During the fifth round of US – Taliban talks in Qatar, the withdrawal of American troops, preventing Afghanistan from being used by Daesh and Al-Qaeda, beginning intra-Afghan dialogues and establishing cease-fire are the core issues on the table.
“All four key issues remain on the table,” Khalilzad said.

Taliban have reportedly called for the announcement of a timetable for US troops withdrawal from Afghanistan, but the American side said that this issue goes back to the security agreement with the Afghan government which should be decided on widely.
The US negotiating team also called for beginning intra Afghan dialogue and establishing peace, but the Taliban delegation said that they need more advice in this regard.

Although there are no more details about the talks, Mr Khalilzad said the “meetings were productive,” after a three day solid talks with Taliban in Doha. “We continue to take slow, steady steps toward understanding and eventually peace,” he added.
