At least 23 people were killed or wounded during a bloody attack on a ceremony marking the 24th martyrdom anniversary of Ustad Mazari in Kabul on Thursday.
Daesh (ISIS) claimed the responsibility of the attack by issuing a statement on Al-Amaq.

Back-to-back explosions were heard about 12:00 (Kabul time) when Mr. Abdullah was giving speeches, but the holder of the ceremony urged people to sit on their seats and the explosions were far away.
After Mr Yunus Qanuni began addressing, Mr Mohaqiq came to the tribune and said: “mortar sound is being heard. I am afraid they find your place … let’s end the ceremony”.

According to eyewitnesses, over 15 mortars were landed around Musala-e Mazari.
Nusrat Rahimi, the acting spokesman of the Interior Ministry confirmed the explosion in western Kabul, and said that the mortars are being fired from a house in PD-18 and the launcher of rockets was arrested.

He said that a number of other involved individuals have also been identified, who are now surrounded by police.
Farid Mayar, a spokesman for the Ministry of public health said that three dead bodies and about 20 injured people were transferred to the hospital.
