Following rocket shelling and suicide attack on martyrdom anniversary of Ustad Mazari in capital Kabul, government officials and some politicians condemned it by publishing messages.

Afghan presidential palace (Arg) condemned the attack by issuing a statement.
“Attack on public gatherings is a criminal act and enmity to civil values and democracy,” Arg said in a statement, citing president Ghani.
The president added that the country’s security and defense institutions have used all means to ensure the safety of the people and will not hesitate to do any effort.
“The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has expressed his condolences and sympathies with the families of the victims of the incident, wishing paradise to the martyrs and recovery to those who injured,” the statement added.

The second vice president Sarwar Danish also condemned the attack by publishing a message.
“Regrettably, the vampire terrorists and the enemies of the Afghan people once again showed their filthy nature in the terrorist attack on martyrdom anniversary ceremony of Shahid Ustad Abdul Ali Mazari in the west of Kabul, and drew a void line on the naive optimism that they expect from peace,” Mr Danish said. Adding that “we witness this terrorist attack on a national ceremony while peace talks ongoing and many are delighted with the talks, thinking that terrorists have come to sense. A number of former Afghan officials, who had attended this ceremony, expressed their optimism. But moments later, the terrorists showed these optimisms are naïve by carrying out a terrorist and blind attack on Shahid Mazari’s ceremony”.
Mr Danish also said that peace is acceptable to the people, in which all various walks of the country feel safe and free.

Meanwhile, Ata M. Noor, the chief executive of the Jamiat-e Islami party also reacted against the terrorist attack and condemned it. Mr Noor, however, pointed to the government, saying that designers of the attack are particular circles within the government.
“I see this as an organized attack against my teammates and other Afghan leaders. This once again proves the NUG’s incompetence and it is obvious that it’s organized by particular circles within the Government. The NUG showed that it is unable to ensure the security of such gatherings.,” said Ata M. Noor. Adding that “Those who bluff that they want to attack the terrorist safe heavens beyond Afghanistan, can’t even ensure the security of the capital & the country’s biggest military bases”.
On 7 March 2019, mortar and suicide attacks on the commemoration ceremony of the 24th martyrdom anniversary of Ustad Mazari in Kabul disrupted the ceremony, killing at least three and wounded about 20 others.
