The fifth death anniversary of Marshal M. Qasim Fahim, former first VP, was held at Loya Jirga tent in Kabul on Saturday.
Addressing the fifth commemoration gathering of Marshal M. Qasim Fahim, Adib Fahim, his elder son said that Marshal Fahim belongs to all Afghanistan.
He stressed on Marshal’s role in building the new system and national defense forces.

Other speakers of the gathering also considered Marshal’s role important in Jihad, resistance, and developments after the Bonn conference, citing his views on the peace process and systematization.
“Afghanistan Marshal belongs to all Afghan people, the security and defense forces, and should not be sacrificed in the peace process,” said Adib Fahim.

Former Afghan president Hamid Karzai said his role in state-building changes was prominent, considering him a national figure.
Abdul Rab Rassoul Sayyaf, a Jihadi leader, considered Marshal as a brave Mujahid, saying that besides being a Mujahid, he was a knight-errant.

HPC chief M. Karim Khalili talked about Marshal’s view on the peace process.
“Peace is like trading and it should be worked on,” said Karim Khalili.
Marshal M. Qasim Fahim, the former first vice president died on 9 March 2014 at the age of 56.
