US state department’s special representative on Afghan peace process Zalmay Khalilzad met Tuesday with Afghan Ambassador to Washington Roya Rahmani and discussed the peace process.

“We had a substantive discussion and talked next steps in the Afghan peace process,” Khalilzad twitted. “It is neither an easy nor straight path we are walking,” he added.

US Envoy Khalilzad also stressed on joint cooperation between the two countries after the US state department said during a telephone conversation with president M. Ashraf Ghani that it will cut all ties with Afghan NSA Hamdullah Mohib.
“To stay on track it’s of utmost importance we continue to walk it together,” Khalilzad added.
