Former Afghan government colleagues, who have witnessed secret incidents within the presidential palace (Arg), are revealing administrative, financial and moral corruptions within Arg, one after another, which it has severely shocked the public opinions.
General Habib Ahmadzai, former adviser and a close aide to Ashraf Ghani in an interview with Khurshid TV channel has revealed organized crimes, Mafia ring around president Ghani and moral corruption which are raging in Arg.
According to Ahmadzai, there is a particular circle around president Ghani which prevents others to reach him and serve the country.
“Women without “prostitution” cannot reach government positions,” he said, following his revelations about “moral corruption” at the presidential palace.
“Women reach government posts through prostitution,” he added.

This has become even more shocking when Maryam Wardak, a former staff of Arg, confirmed Ahmadzai’s claims.
“The issues General Ahmadzai brought up reflect reality. Presidential palace is the centre of government, anything that is happening in the presidential palace is a reflection of how president Ghani’s government is run. Unfortunately, this has become a rallying cause for the Taliban,” said Ms Wardak.
Maryam Wardak, who was a former strategic communication adviser to the national security council, confirmed Ahmadzai’s revelations.
“You must prostitute if you want to make progress. Female MPs are declared winners by 500 to 600 votes,” she added.
According to her, the list of final winners went to president Ghani and he checked up on who should be and who should not be in the final list.

Presidential candidates’ council also in a statement reacted against the issue.
The statement considered president Ghani accountable for “financial and moral corruptions” of Arg.

Besides these, lack of political legitimacy adds to the corruption that first, this government was brokered by the former US secretary of state and got semi-legitimacy, but after May 22, it lost the same legitimacy and now the continuation of the government tenure led by Mr Ghani should change its title from “NUG” to “financial, moral, and political” corruption angles.

However, the main argument is that why Arg is so drowned in corruption and what factors are behind it.
Undoubtedly, monopolizing the political and economic authority follows corruption at one point. When a ruler falls into the hands of a few faces, having fascistic tendencies, he cannot see the world from that window and angle.

According to revelations made by Majeed Qarar, former Cultural Attaché at Embassy of Afghanistan in Washington, the family, and relatives of Salam Rahimi, the Chief of Staff of Presidential Office, have occupied dozens of governmental posts, and this family will do everything in its power to maintain its position in order to remain in authority.

The author is not looking to accuse anyone, but the country’s public opinion is waiting for Arg’s accountability based on law and documents. If Arg is unable to provide such a response, it is better for Mr Ghani to step down and let the country not to be drowned in crisis more than this.
