Members and head of the Afghan government peace negotiating team Mohammad Masoom Stanekzai met Turkish Foreign Ministry’s director-general for south Asia Hakan Tekin in Doha.
They exchanged views on the Afghanistan peace process on Tuesday.
“Expressing appreciation for Turkey’s efforts in the Afghanistan peace process, the head of the Negotiating Team of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan said that Turkey has historical relations with the Afghan people and we welcome its constructive role in the peace process,” the state ministry for peace said in a statement.
Hakan Tekin also said that in order to achieve peace, Turkey will stand by the people of Afghanistan and support the Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.
